Leaping into the world of selling art online
This blog is written by Shirley, Olek's wife and self-appointed Operations Director to share my major intervention into the creatively chaotic world of Olek's art generation.
Creating art has never been a problem for Olek - his styles have evolved over the years to produce a rich variety of methods and mediums which he is constantly developing. This means his own exhibitions have a wide selection for visitors to enjoy and purchase.
However, Olek started painting in the pre-digital generation when "storage" and "protection" simply consisted of ensuring his art was well wrapped up in a dry and secure space (preferably away from leaky roofs and mice activity - learned that the hard way!).
Nowadays, major physical threats are not of vermin of the rodent kind, but of the constant scamming under the guise of fake NFT sales or "vanity" exhibition offerings. I've introduced a simple process to help us avoid those folk out there that make exploitation their business.
The online world means generating a robust cataloguing system so that original pictures are not sold twice and limited edition prints are correctly numbered and quickly fulfilled. My intervention has involved putting my administrative talents into sourcing appropriate fulfillment partners and in cataloging his recent collections, creating a new online store and a refresh to his www.artbyolek.com website. Oh and of course, starting a blog!
All of the above is to enable Olek to do what he does best....creating art!
Hope to hear your thoughts on your online journeys with selling art online.
